As Atlanta prepares to host the FIFA World Cup 2026, the city will welcome hundreds of thousands of international visitors, many of whom are unfamiliar with the local environment, health risks, and available resources.
The area surrounding Mercedes-Benz Stadium, while culturally rich and historically significant, has also experienced elevated rates of opioid use and overdose incidents.
The Play It Safe Atlanta campaign, presented by the Fulton County Board of Health Opioid Program, works to reduce risk and prevent overdose by putting life-saving naloxone within everyone's reach for free.

Try to wake the person. If they don't respond, call 911 immediately.
Insert the nozzle in a nostril and press firmly to release the dose.
Stay with them until help arrives. Give a second dose after 2–3 min if needed.
